Welcome to a new experience in Seafood.
We are told daily of the problems concerning the amount of fish left in the Oceans. There are many organisations who inform us which fish to eat and which to leave, but all this information can be confusing and sometimes conflicting.
We hope to make it a little easier to eat sustainable in several ways.
Firstly, we do not buy Seafood until you place the Order, that way the fish stay in the Sea and not in a chiller.
We have restricted delivery days to approximately once every two weeks, our experience has shown us that most people buy fish for the weekend. Again, this leaves fish in the sea and not on a counter. For special Occasions we will deliver on other days.
Spawning is natures way of re-stocking the shelves. Without the time to spawn, new stocks cannot be created. For commercial reasons Fishermen have to catch through these seasons, we will where possible remove stocks that are in spawning season.
We buy from fishermen in Dartmouth, Devon and Fraserburgh,Scotland. These fishermen use small boats casting hand lines or pots. We are working hard to remove high impact trawled seafood from our lists. For more information on catching techniques click here. However, this may be unrealistic and soon all of our seafood will display the catch method.

We hope this gives you the chance to make an informed choice about you seafood.
In today's world of convenience, buying food out of season and 24hrs a day is commonplace. Perhaps now with the last of our wild caught food under threat, it is time to re-think those ideas.
